Gerard talks about his work as a chef, food journalist with the BBC's Food Programme, his travels
(which include six seasons in Antarctica) and how to hire him
Welcome to my homepage
As I write this introduction, I am unaware of what responses the web site will elicit.
It is my hope that it will provide some amusement to those of you who have bothered to find it.
Within its pages are details of my work as a chef to date, my travels and how you can hire me.
Additionally, it holds details of my work as a food journalist, with a summary of my work to date
for the BBC Radio Four Food Programme.
Also included are details of my travels in the Antarctic, where I have worked for the past six years on both
research stations and private expeditions. Anyone wanting more information about anything on the site -
or to share some, has only to click on the Contact Gerard button and I shall reply as soon as I can.
Whilst I am often away from home for many months of the year, my greatest love apart from my family and
friends, is my garden. This is featured extensively, and the records of my planting and successes/failures are
detailed for the keen. I hope that the site is able to encourage those reading it to be inspired about food
and the means of its production.
As I continue to travel and cook, I shall be able to put you, the reader of the site, in touch with food suppliers,
seed merchants and restaurants that share my ideal that good food, produced locally, should be at the heart
of our lives. I hope that you enjoy it - happy reading and happy cooking!
I have also added a link to the menu bar which contains the links to most of the other html files
